What does the PIR sensor work for?
PIR sensors are more sensitive to the infrared radiations from humans or animals, and thus can dramatically reduce false alarms caused by fluttering moths or flying twigs. Its full name is a passive infrared sensor. It measures the infrared (IR) light radiating from objects with a temperature above absolute zero. When the amount of infrared radiation changes, it triggers detection.
Can this camera be used outdoors/indoors?
This camera can be used both indoors and outdoors.It is IP66 certified weatherproof and its operating temperature is from -10°C to 55°C (14°F to 131°F), ideal for outdoor and indoor usage.
Can this camera support time-lapse function?
Yes, the camera can support time-lapse. It can save time-lapse photos and videos to the SD card.
Does the camera support PoE NVR or a third-party storage device such as NAS?
This camera supports local SD card storage, and cloud storage and can support NAS through the Reolink Home Hub.https://cloud.reolink.com/#supported-country-and-device.
Can I talk to someone via the Reolink App? (Two-way audio)
Yes, this security camera features two-way audio, which means you can listen and talk to someone in real time with simple clicks in App.
Can this camera support smart home like Google Assistant?
Yes, currently, this camera can work with Google Assistant.
How can I charge this camera? Is the solar panel a must?
You have two charging options (including solar charging)
Option 1: Have the camera connected to a solar panel for non-stop power supply. Also recommended as the most friendly charging option for the cam's battery.
Option 2. Charge the camera (with its non-removable battery) via a 5V 2A USB charger. Please note that it's ok to charge the cam while it's working, but not for long.
How long does the battery last?
The camera comes with a rechargeable battery. Normally, the battery lasts for about 2 months per charge (under the condition that the camera records 300s per day). When the battery level goes down to 10%, the camera will send you a low-battery notification.
Does my camera support person/vehicle/animal detection?
Yes, this camera supports person/vehicle/animal detection.
Does this camera have an SD card?
No, the camera does not come with a microSD card built in. But it has a microSD card slot. This camera supports Max. 128GB microSD cards with FAT32 format and Class 10 or higher read & write speed.
Does this camera support network protocol, such as RTSP/RTMP?
This camera can support remote access and live viewing via Reolink App/Client, and RTSP is supported by using Reolink Home Hub. No subscription fees are required.
Does the camera offer true full-colour night vision when the spotlight is off?
Yes, thanks to the ColorX technology, the camera can still provide colour night vision without the spotlight on. Featuring an F1.0 large aperture that allows four times more light in than an F2.0 aperture. Additionally, the camera is equipped with a 1/1.8" advanced sensor, enabling it to deliver clear and vivid full-colour night vision even without additional lighting. You can also turn on the spotlight for even higher-quality colour night vision.
